D.L., 52 y.o., male, married, Filipino, with chief complaint of severe neck pain and numbness of the left ring and the small finger. 15 yrs. Ago, he complained of left sub scapular pain, which was persistent and nagging. Physical Therapy was done but gave only temporary relief. The pain worsened and there was gradual swelling of the left shoulder muscles. About 17 months ago, he had severe neck pain, generalized stiff neck and difficulty in supporting his neck upwards, numbness of the left ring and small finger and severe headache was also remarkable.
An x-ray was taken which showed degenerative disc joint disease with Cervical spondylosis at C5-C6 and C6-C7. Daily physical therapy was done for 6 months. An MRI was taken which showed moderate cervical spondylosis with chronic degenerative disk disease from C3-C4 to C6-C7 levels, with narrowed central canal and neural foramina, and straightened cervical lordosis. Surgery in terms of 3-level diskectomy with fixation of the vertebral body by a titanium plate was suggested. He did not submit for surgery but instead, continued physical therapy with strengthening of the neck and shoulder muscles.There was gradual improvement.
About 2 months ago, he began to take Super Pi plus water. He noticed that 2 weeks after taking Super Pi Plus water, there was a remarkable change in the mobility of the neck joints, with minimal neck stiffness, and relief of headache. A repeat MRI, 11 months after the first MRI, showed and indention along the thecal sac from C3-C4 to C6-C7 appears relatively lesser in degree with widening of the subarachnoid space.
The cervical disk is very dependent upon good quality water to maintain its stability. The degenerative cervical disk changes due to age could be attributed to reduced composition of body fluids and poor uptake to water to support the spongy tissue of the disk. A good quality of water with a molecular size almost of that of our bodily fluids can be easily absorbed by he disk, thus, aid in its regeneration or slow down the process of degeneration.
Another observation he had after drinking Super Pi Plus water was a relief of intermittent cloudication of the lower extremities which he was suffering daily of years.
